Why Study In Tahfiz
• Wanting the best for your child •
You want the best for your child.
But what does it really mean to want the best?
Can it be achieved by putting them in the best schools, yet at the same time, leaving them exposed to negative influences that you could never filter out completely?
Can your child decide on what is right to follow and what needs to be avoided in life?
The answer to all these issues lies within Al Quran. If your child is between 10 and 15 years old, why not give them a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn, remember and apply the teachings found in Al Quran that will help shape his or her future for the best.
Can you still remember that old cartoon jingle from your favourite cartoon when you were 6 or 7 years old? You might still be able to remember the lyrics now! That is how powerful childhood memory is.
At this young age, children are like sponges, absorbing everything they read, see or hear very quickly. This is the BEST TIME to make full use of their long term memory for the memorisation of Al Quran. But it has to be done in a specific environment, context and pace, away from the distractions and influences that would hinder them from reaching their peak in memorisation. The most effective way to achieve this is by taking them away from learning other subjects to focus fully on Al Quran memorisation.
Why does it feel like it is such a huge sacrifice to make? Because we have been conditioned to worry too much about our child’s academic education. Unfortunately, it is usually for the wrong reasons, such as our own personal fear that our children would not excel academically like our friends' or siblings' children.
So let’s ask ourselves honestly, is this competing for academic results for our children, or for us?
And are we raising them to compete with others for the Dunya or the Akhirah?
Let's look at it from a different perspective.
3 years in regular school vs 3 years in tahfizWhat can your child achieve in 3 years of regular school that can compare to having successfully memorised Al Quran?
Yes, not all children will memorise every single page of Al Quran. But what if they managed to do half? Or a third? Even that would be a remarkable accomplishment, right? You will never know how far your child can progress, unless you give them the opportunity to start now.
And wouldn't you agree that it is far easier to catch up with regular school, then risk losing that GOLDEN PERIOD where your child memorises like a sponge?
Plus, imagine what that boost of confidence, concentration and rapid memorisation skills developed during tahfiz can do for your child for the rest of his or her life.
Its time to break that cycle and prioritise your child’s TRUE education – to understand life challenges and to deal with them according to Al Quran and Sunnah. This is truly the best gift you can give your child, inshaAllah.
May Allah guide us to raise righteous offsprings. Ameen.
